In a world with a society that creates certain beauty standards, Robyn Fenty, who we all know and love as the music icon Rihanna, has proven that beauty comes in all body shapes and colors.
It’s refreshing to see someone who’s created a brand that celebrates the parts of us that we, for a long time, were forced to hide. Ms. Fenty has DESTROYED the notion that ONLY skinny is in and dark is OUT. She has made the average person feel inclusive with her brand in beauty and fashion and personally, at 5’1, 160 lbs. with dark skin, I feel damn good knowing I can shop for skin care, makeup, and lingerie that helps me to highlight the most beautiful parts of me and not feel like my little weight and dark skin is a hinderance.

Not only that, she publicly and artistically supports folks of all nationalities, gender, and sex regardless of age, race, and/or sexual orientation. She’s a huge supporter of the LGBT community and unapologetic about who she is and what she does. We need someone like Rihanna, who gives a big MIDDLE FINGER through her brand, wiping out the competition. You know…those other brands that typically highlight one-sided beauty. WE SEE YOU!
Rihanna recently debuted Fenty Savage X Vol. 2 on Amazon Prime and it was nothing short of amazing, with featured artists including Lizzo, Demi Moore, Indya Moore, Willow Smith, and Christian Combs, just to name a few. The fashion show highlighted Ms. Fenty’s brand of beautiful lingerie, but it was the artists, the models/dancers from all walks of life and all beautiful sizes that put a smile on my face.
Fenty’s brand, Fenty Savage X, Fenty Beauty, and Fenty Fashions, is all about the importance of not only celebrating your uniqueness but the importance of inclusivity. That’s big and we appreciate Robyn for all that she does to honor that through her work. We are in a world that thrives off of division, discrimination, racism, and we’ve simply had enough.
Robyn Fenty is necessary. Not only because of her timeless music, but for her generous efforts to use her art to display unity, pride, sexual freedom, and the freedom to be YOU, unapologetically.
More brands should pull up.
