One thing about foot baths is that they feel like HEAVEN! Especially after a long day on your feet. However, a foot bath with added natural ingredients includes not only providing a spa-like treatment in the comfort of your own space, but also benefits of foot health improvement and bacteria removal. Below are four easy and basic at-home foot bath detoxing recipes that you can do at home! What’s even better? The ingredients aren’t pricy and won’t break your pockets!

What you’ll need:

  • Large Tub– This is needed to soak your feet in. Make sure the tub is large enough to accommodate your feet and enough water to soak them to your ankles.
  • Towels– You will need two towels, one on the floor to soak up any spilled water and one nearby to dry your feet with.
  • Warm Water – Make sure to have a tub of warm water nearby. You can use the water to freshen up the water in your soak
  • Cold Water – When you’re done with the soak, you can rinse off your feet with cold water, which will help you feel refreshed.

 

 

  1. Milk & Honey Foot Detox

This foot soak not only detoxes but also moisturizes your skin. It helps to get rid of dead skin, improves skin tone, and also prevents itchiness and irritation.

You will need the following:

Ingredients:

  • Honey – 1 cup (use organic for best results)
  • Coconut milk  – 1 cup
  • Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon (powder)
  • Water – 1 quart

In a small bowl of boiling water, add the honey and coconut milk and dissolve them. Add this mixture to the water in the tub.

Sprinkle the cinnamon powder into the water and soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure to rinse off with cold water and dry your feet properly.

 

2)  Apple Cider Vinegar Detox

This is one of the simplest foot baths. It is also great for killing bacteria and improves skin tone and boosts circulation.

The following is what you will need to make this soak:

Ingredients:

  • Apple cider vinegar– 2 cups
  • Water – 1 quart

Add the apple cider vinegar in warm water. Now, just dip your feet in the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes.

Make sure that the apple cider vinegar is diluted correctly. Rinse your feet with cold water after you are done.

 

3) Ginger Detox

Perfect for helping with irritation from skin allergies, congestion, and for helping with body aches, the ginger and oxygen detox is a rejuvenating foot soak.

You will need the following to make it:

Ingredients:

  • Hydrogen peroxide – 2 cups
  • Ground ginger  – 1 tablespoon (dried or powdered)
  • Essential oil – 10 drops (Any oil based on your preference)
  • Water – 1 quart

 

4) Sea Salt Detox

This detox soak is excellent for general detoxing, boosting magnesium levels in the body, and soothing irritation of the skin. To make it, you will need the following:

Ingredients:

  • Sea salt – ¼ cup (can also use Himalayan pink salt)
  • Epsom – ¼ cup
  • Baking Soda – ¼ cup
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1/3 cup
  • Peppermint essential oil – 10 drops (can also use lavender or other favorite oil)
  • Water – 1 quart

Equipment

  • Jar

Boil a quart of water and dissolve the sea salt, Epsom salt, and baking soda and set aside in the jar.

Take a large bowl and fill it with warm water and add the apple cider vinegar in it.

Now, pour in the sea salt mixture and ten drops of your favorite essential oil. Soak your feet for 30 minutes or for as long as you want to.

 

As an added precaution, pay attention to any food allergies you might have and do a patch test before soaking your feet.
