Cucumber/Lemon Water Can Change The Game! Here’s Why!

In recent years, infused water has become as popular as a Bruno Mars track! Infused water is healthy, tasty, has amazing health benefits, and is the ultimate method for detoxing your body from the inside out.

The most common method is infused water with cucumbers and lemons. Cucumbers are perfect because it’s 90% water, high in fiber, high in vitamin C and the green mixed in the water with the yellow, makes it so damn pretty! Cucumber is considered a fruit which, according to studies, aids in improving brain health.  Cucumbers are also known as an antioxidant. It contains polyphenols called lignans, which may help to lower your risk of certain types of cancer including ovarian, breast, and prostate cancer.

Cucumbers in water can also work as a great metabolism booster! It supports weight loss by helping you feel full so you don’t eat as much. It does all that while flushing toxins out of your body.

Although any fruit with cucumbers in water makes for a great detox method, it is lemons that is the common fruit of choice.  The taste of lemons not only complements the taste of the cucumbers, but it also provides the nutrients needed to work as an antioxidant, as well as an anti-inflammatory solution.

I’ve been incorporating cucumber/lemon water for a few months now. Not only do I drink it every day to detox, but it has great benefits for the skin. The cucumbers, particularly in water, can help soothe your skin from the inside out and maintain a healthy complexion. Cucumbers are also high in vitamin B-5, which has been used to treat acne.

Making this special water is pretty simple.

  • Get yourself a pitcher
  • fill with water (ice is optional)
  • Slice lemons and cucumbers and throw in the pitcher
  • stir and place in fridge for a few hours
  • leave in overnight (24 hours) for more flavor.

Tip: You can add mint leaves for an even more refreshing and cooling detox
